Vegetable production systems using native soil or a potted production system should be built on level areas with deep, well-drained soils. Best are sandy loams. It's crucial to have access to clean water. High salt levels in the water or the soil can dramatically lower yields. Growers may think about bringing in better soil or employing a soilless producing technique in areas where the soils are unsuitable (such as a hydroponic system).

The veggies you will consume or sell and that do well indoors are tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, lettuce and other greens, beans and peas, and cucumbers. Take advantage of plants that can withstand extreme temperatures, such as greens in the winter and peppers in the summer. You and your family can make money off of those vegetables. You can increase your harvest by producing vegetables that aren't generally available in the winter or aren't readily available where you live. You make your organic vegetables, which are healthy for you, your family, and your community.
