About The Project

The community members are coming together to solve a pressing issue: the lack of clean, safe drinking water. With determination and resourcefulness, they’ve developed a plan to install a hand pump that will bring safe water to their 2,700 residents, dramatically improving health and quality of life.

The community isn’t just waiting for help—they’re leading the charge. They’ve committed their own manpower to dig the well, safeguard the project, and ensure proper storage of construction materials. Families are even preparing meals for the workers to keep the momentum going. With an estimated timeline of three months, their collective efforts are inspiring, but they need your support to make their vision a reality.

Paying it Forward

Upon the completion of this project, the residents of Block 1118D will finally have access to clean, safe drinking water, drastically reducing the prevalence of illnesses like cholera, typhoid fever, and skin infections. Families will no longer endure the exhausting 25-minute journey to fetch water, reclaiming valuable time to invest in productive endeavors, education, or simply cherishing moments with loved ones. Most importantly, the community will take pride in having their own reliable water source—a symbol of progress, health, and collective effort.

Backstory

In the heart of Block 1118 lies a community of 2,700 resilient souls living across 205 humble households. This is a community where every drop of water is a precious commodity, yet access to safe drinking water is a distant dream. Their reality is one of struggle, with men, women, and children trekking 25 minutes to the nearest community just to fetch water—water that is sometimes their only hope but far from their safest choice.

When the rains come, the well within their reach becomes contaminated with dirt, turning a lifeline into a hazard. The water becomes unsafe, a silent carrier of sickness. Diarrhea and skin diseases spread through families, leaving young and old alike vulnerable. Their daily life is overshadowed by a preventable crisis.

This is not just a story of scarcity; it’s a story of determination. Despite these hardships, the people of Block 1118 D hold onto hope. They’ve come together with one clear mission: to bring safe drinking water home.
